Got it right again, Dave! Why aren’t the Democrats, RIGHT NOW, telling the nation how exactly they are going to reverse EVERY SINGLE DEMENTED, HATEFUL, HORRIBLE LIE, SCAM, ETC. BS THING that has been done, or attempted to be done by executive order or otherwise. We should see a prominent list EVERY DAY detailing how the Party will get us back to the generous, caring, humane nation we once were before greed and hate took over. Time to melt all of Trump’s gold into food and medicine, turn his golf enterprises into warming/cooling places for homeless veterans, appoint competent Cabinet members who are committed to undoing the harms wrought, and the list is endless.
We must elect an inspirational leader who will challenge the country to regain its status as a beacon of hope and prosperity for all.
Thanks, you're so right. I just hope the reporters will stay on top on Trump and his administration and report the truth and not fear any retribution. We must keep all aware of what is happening to our government and who is making it happen and who is impacted.
Let’s hope journalists have learned a lesson, Sue. I think we are largely doing a good job reporting both on the specifics and the overall harm being down to our institutions, which took generations to build, and are being leveled in a matter of days.
“You have to know the jailers.” I had never heard it said that way.
In retrospect, this makes me wonder how different life (and the world for that matter) might be today had Iowa’s caucuses preference carried on into the 2020 presidential election!
I thought the same thing, Jim. If only the country had listened to Iowans. Of course, there’s no way of knowing whether another candidate could have beaten Trump in 2020. I was initially for Harris until she flamed out, then moved to Klobuchar. But I wonder if we all missed the boat on Booker. He’s sensational.
Today's NYT Spelling Bee does not recognize the word Biden, and thanks to Dave for nailing how the WH press corps had the same inability. We were all awash in short-term "He's not Trump" euphoria, losing our eye on the radical right's long game to take over the GOP.
This article is spot on, Dave. As a D voter, I was also a bit complacent and willing to give Biden the benefit of the doubt as he disappeared from the press and events later in his presidency. Bad decision by voters as well as journalists. And look what that has given us today. A terrible president with a group of lackeys & know nothing people who work for him. Horrible situation. Thanks for the article. Denny Linderbaum
I think we all were, Denny. We believed what we WANTED to believe. And, of course, Biden’s results were effective. He had a competent team around him. No way he should have decided to run again, though.
Trump is in office (in my opinion) due to Biden's handler's -- including his wife!! Trump is in office because of their (Democrat's) thirst for power💪💪💪💪
The border was a huge issue with a majority of American's wanting that flow slowed and/or stopped. The Democrat's missed that fly ball.
I have served on mission trips to SE Asia, I want to help people, but it needs to be under restraints.
The border closings are almost zero, and it was done without a wall! Put some troops on the ground, and illegal crossings were greatly reduced.
We have a leader (Trump) only has 2 things on mind money and power 🤑🤑💪💪💪.
We need term limits, and Reverse Citizens Is United 🤮🤮
I'm on a rant today -- on my third cup of ☕ ☕ ☕ coffee.
Rant away! It’s good for the soul in times like these. I agree with everything you wrote. The Biden administration definitely should have tackled the border sooner than it did. In fairness, there was an epidemic to fight and an economic disaster threatening the country. And although they were too slow on the border, let’s not forget the bi-partisan immigration bill crafted in 2023 that Trump had his congressional lackeys spike because he wanted to use the issue to run on. An extremely cynical thing to do.
Hi Dave -- Terri and I went to Biden's first campaign event in Iowa in 2019. A small venue -- maybe 200 people. An event easy to just be "conversational." He used a teleprompter for the whole thing. There were several times he went "off-script" and meandered from thought to thought. We left believing there is no way this guy will beat the other great candidates in the field. He proved us wrong. Once he got in office, too many Americans gave him a pass because even at his worst, he was better than Trump. His decision to seek re-election was a huge disservice to the nation; one that the press, other potential candidates, office holders, staff, first lady and so many others will regret and be justly criticized for.

Down ballot wins will be essential!
As usual, Dean, we’ll put you down as “undecided”! :)

I tried Biden and bidden. No luck! Although I did get to genius. Let’s hope the WH press corps has learned a valuable lesson.

"let’s not forget the bi-partisan immigration bill crafted in 2023"
Great point Dave!
I did forget!
My excuse -- aging boomer -- LOL!

Don’t you feel silly writing this now that 47 has informed us that the Biden you write about was just a clone with a software glitch.
