If there is one area (and that’s debatable) where Trump actually is the “stable genius” that he so modestly claims, it’s in this area. Who else could face 91 felony counts, be convicted of sexual assault, lead an insurrection, be twice impeached and still be the Republican front-runner? He actually has many of those in Iowa and across the country believing he’d be willing to go to prison for them! Unbelievable! Of course, he is getting tremendous cover from Fox News pundits and the right wing echo chamber, who reaffirm to a blue collar crowd that he’s fighting for them. If Richard Nixon had Fox News in 1968 he would never resigned.

We need freedom of speech in a just society; without a fair justice system, unable to defend itself from intimidation, we will lose our justice system. The national media should amplify this column. In my very modest way, I just shared on social media.
With Jim Jordan's loss, Republicans now have the chance to show their strength and choose to support a House leader who's not an election denier. Election deniers are traitors to this nation. The whole Republican Party needs to come clean. If they do it together, think of how proud this nation would be of them! If Mariannette Miller Meeks can do it, despite death threats from extremists, then wouldn't there be strength in numbers? At the same time, the party could take a stand against violence! Wouldn't that be novel?!

Dave, it depends on how one defines "in modern history" regarding former presidents who have sought the office again.
