I started watching women's college basketball about four years ago and discovered that the women were fundamentally better than the men and that they had superior shooting skills. Of course, Caitlin Clark makes women's college basketball must see TV. I often compare her to Pete Maravich. They both had an unbridled joy at playing the game and making it exciting. At one time I was a high school girls basketball coach. That was back in the 6 on 6 era when many people felt female athletes were incapable of physically running the floor and playing a "boys" game. Well they aren't saying that now.
I am not an expert on basketball, but I’ve been very impressed with Caitlin’s sportsmanship; always crediting the team, and willingness to give up shots when other team mates are in a better position. Thanks for dedicating a column to her!
