I share your view on the NYT and have read it daily on line for years. But love the Sunday version in paper.

Now if the Register could just actually learn to charge for their digital subscription. We have subscribed for several years and after awhile we stop being charged and then eventually get our subscription canceled. We resubscribe and then repeat the process. We're currently in the third cycle. I know this is handled by a third party, but it can't be that difficult.

I preferred to get the physical paper DM Register, but had a lot of trouble with delivery so I switched to digital. Now I hardly ever read it! I don't like their format, the way they make us switch to a non-formatted screen to struggle getting the right sentence together with the previous one, if that makes any sense.

Andrea, I find the e-newspaper works well either on the desktop or the iPad app. It’s just like reading the print copy.

Don Lemon was supposed to receive some sensitivity training if I recall earlier news reports. That should last forever and he should remain off air for the same length of time. I'm a Wall Street Journal subscriber for the same reasons Dave likes the NY Times. I don't read the Times but peruse some Washington Post stories. The combination of WSJ and WPO gives me the conservative-liberal balance I value. Haven't subscribed to the DSM Register for years since it became a shadow of its former glory.

Steve, I started a digital subscription to the WSJ two months ago. I wanted a different perspective on the editorial page, and I’m certainly getting that! I often don’t agree with the editorials but it helps me understand the conservative viewpoint. Peggy Noonan makes a lot of sense in her editorials. She seems reasonable.

Dave, I like some Washington Post editorials, too. I agree with you about Peggy Noonan of the WSJ. I'm a conservative but I often agree with Democratic proposals in the Iowa General Assembly and am frustrated when Republicans don't adopt what I believe are common sense measures.

Don Lemon's comments were inexcusable and the fact that he didn't immediately see the need to apologize makes me question his judgment. (Was never a regular viewer of his show.)
