And let’s not forget how statehouse republicans banned journalists from the senate floor in 2022. The good news? Journalists like you, Dave, use new platforms to continue to call bad actors out for this egregious behavior. Thanks for all you do!

Good point, Terri. I'd forgotten about that.

None more qualified than you to weigh in a real knucklehead move! On a night when they’ve run the table on the Democrats some Republicans still can’’t resist grievance behavior. A real mixed message with a governor shouting “the best is yet to come” and a party operative picking a fight with a top tier news organization. Better to go out of your way to feed the media unless you want them feeding on you. When will political-types full of themselves learn that the only true incumbents are members of the Fourth Estate.

None more qualified than me to weigh in on a real knucklehead move? That could be taken two ways, Richard! :) Heaven knows, I've made enough of them.

We ban the journalists today. Who’s next on the enemy list? The academics? The public health professionals? The social workers? Anyone or anything that doesn’t fall in line? Absolute power corrupts absolutely. (Me thinks maybe there’s a column there for us to play with)

Appreciate the insider look at the role of journalism. There are many ways to obstruct freedom of speech, and all are frightening.

Well said, Dave -- exactly as I would expect from you. Journalists in Iowa, along with the rest of us, are fortunate that we get to keep learning from you. Many thanks.
